This client is one of several relatively new companies entering the proton therapy treatment center market. Scientific data suggest protons may provide more precise tumor irradiation than traditional radiation therapy such as proton treatment, resulting in less damage to healthy tissue and fewer side effects in cancer patients.
The client company business model targeted major health systems as partners in developing and operating a Proton Therapy Center. They needed to meet selected C-suite executives to gain interest in proton therapy and to explain their business partnership model.
Estimated construction costs for proton centers range from $30 million-plus for a single room facility to more than $200 million for a multiple room center.
The client was referred to C-Suite Resources by one of our Faculty-Advisors who was developing a partnership with the company.
The proton therapy development company asked C-Suite Resources to:
- Review their “target list” of potential health system clients and provide a rating of each market based on the client’s criteria
- Plan, assemble and conduct a number of C-suite executive focus groups in various locations around the country
The assignment was quite challenging since the number of prospect health system clients was quite small based on the client’s criteria.
C-Suite Resources has conducted two healthcare industry focus groups; one at the client’s initial Proton Therapy Center and one at an east coast location. C-suite executives attending have included CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CMOs, Directors of Cancer Programs, and others from many of the leading health systems in the country.
